Hi y’all! Welcome to Episode II of my personal, unscripted, unfiltered therapy sessions. Today I discuss why I started this video series, having my first anxiety attack of the year and managing it, and my feelings towards returning to work and Gen Surg Residency life

Hi y’all! Welcome to Episode III of my personal, unscripted, unfiltered therapy sessions. Today I talk about the unfortunate passing of Dr. Janelle Green Smith, the midwife who tragically lost her life due to complications of childbirth. I discuss my personal fears about Maternal Fetal Mortality and the treatment of Black Women in the healthcare system, and why the idea of going through childbirth scares me as both a healthcare professional and someone hoping to start a family soon. Hi y’all! Welcome to Episode IV of my personal, unscripted, unfiltered therapy sessions. Following my discussion yesterday about Dr. Green Smith’s passing, I talk about the Black Pregnant Female patients seen in the media recently who were turned away and mistreated while in the hospital during late stages of their pregnancies. I talk about advocacy for patients, especially the vulnerable ones and those who do not have anyone to speak up for them. I share a personal story about my father and his time in the hospital where if my sister and I had not been vocal a very serious condition would probably have been missed. Thank you in advance for watching! ** I recorded this while on shift so I was not very loud, and my audio may be a bit low, hopefully the words are audible enough!**

Hi y’all! Welcome to Episode V of my personal, unscripted, unfiltered therapy sessions. I made this 2nd video later in the day so I could be caught up on once daily discussions
In this video I talk about learning from my seniors and attendings, especially in the context of treating emergency conditions on night shift. I also discuss going to my first doctor’s appointment since moving to PA, visiting the doctor as a doctor, and how anxious I always feel knowing that I advocate for patients knowing their medical histories when sometimes I do not even know mine

Hi y’all! Welcome to Episode VI of my personal, unscripted, unfiltered therapy sessions.
Today I discuss the importance of having support on shift as an intern, my feelings about taking care of patients my age and younger with advanced medical conditions, and why I worry about the rise of Late stage cancers, especially Colorectal Cancer being detected in younger people in recent years. Thank you in advance for watching!

Hi y’all! Welcome to Episode VII of my personal, unscripted, unfiltered therapy sessions.
Today I talk about my first formal program (semi-annual) evaluation, the feedback I received and my feelings towards it. This is feedback I was and was not expecting, and I process how I intend to improve myself after hearing about the things I need to work on for the rest of the year. Thank you in advance for watching!
