Happy New month!
I am so excited to be past the month of January, which for me was all about night shifts and insomnia. I plan to post a detailed recap of my month at some point, but I am currently on the dying end of a sleepless wave (I am trying to keep a similar schedule to my past few weeks) and I will be heading to bed soon.
During my fourth year of medical school and my Transitional Year I attended various national and regional conferences. One recurring theme was how important having a social media presence was to our careers in this digital age. Social media, it was said, was the new way to network, meet people, gain insight and opportunities. For most of last year I discussed this with my husband, and at the end of 2025 decided to increase my digital footprint in the way I could handle.
I am a huge proponent of being physically and mentally healthy. I am starting slowly, sharing my favorite things to do to keep fit, including my gym routines, music and dance videos. I am also recording a daily video series describing my work day and how my time in the hospital relates to the rest of my life outside of Surgical residency.
Today I shared a few posts on my social media feed, which I wish to share here as well. I think these apply not only to residency, but to anyone looking to improve their mental health. I hope someone out there finds them useful. Or at least appreciates my basic Canva skills 😊

Have an excellent week ahead, and stay tuned for my new video series, Physician Heal Thyself: Car Therapy on YouTube and on the website.
